Stalin Lopez

Stalin Lopez’s multidisciplinary practice has encompassed the fields of textile design, graphic journalism, street and architecture photography, video and multimedia works. He views art as a medium which heightens an individual’s self-awareness through transformative aesthetic and sensorial experiences. In his photography, Lopez not only aims to capture beauty and the complexities of his subjects, but also explore notions of nature, identity and self. Since early 2018, when his series La Curupira took him right to the heart of the Amazon rainforest, the artist has returned often to continue his exploration of the mystical and mysterious nature of this vast space. It has deeply informed his audio-visual work that combines layered textures, images and sounds.
