OUR NATURE
ÚNA: Uniting Narratives with Arts is an arts and ecological foundation based in Glasgow and Bogotá.
The name ÚNA, Spanish for “one” and Gaelic for Oonagh, Queen of the fairies in Celtic tradition, represents our endeavour to foster cross-cultural exchanges between Latin America and Scotland with a specific focus on“myth”and the natural world.
We host the ÚNA Fest, a non-profit festival aimed at fostering cross-cultural and educational exchanges between these two regions.
OUR VISION.
To blur boundaries and build stronger ties between cultures, landscapes and traditions from Latin America and Scotland, through myth, arts, music, film and spoken word while raising awareness on ecological and cultural issues on both ends.
OUR PURPOSE.
Our purpose is to raise awareness on cultural and environmental issues on both ends, to blur boundaries, and build stronger ties between peoples, traditions and landscapes.
OUR PHILOSOPHY.
Our philosophy is rooted in the importance of a collaborative approach, by bringing together the voices of creatives, theorists and activists from two extremely diverse regions which nonetheless share similar issues on the levels of sustainability, cultural identity, and geopolitics.
OUR DREAM.
Our dream is to continue growing our platform in order to bridge barriers and open a space for collaborative storytelling, artistic expression and ecological projects, thus uniting narratives and voices for long-term structural change at a global, cultural level,
starting from the roots up.
